Privacy Policy

ARKshield (operated by ARKVelocity) provides a platform for capturing, sealing, and sharing photographic proof records with associated metadata such as time, location, and camera direction where available.

The "Service" means the ARKshield website together with the official ARKshield applications for iOS and Android. All clients connect to the same backend, and this policy applies to all of them equally.

Account information

• Display name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Password (stored in secured, hashed form by our authentication provider)
• Industry and, where offered, sub-industry selection
• Referral code and referral link associated with your account
• Terms acceptance version and timestamp

Capture and proof data

• Photos and videos captured through the in-app live camera
• Capture timestamp
• Precise location (GPS) when you grant location permission and your device provides a reading, together with a reported accuracy value
• Device heading / orientation (compass direction) when available
• A human-readable place or address derived from coordinates, where the Service generates one
• Weather and elevation context for the capture point, where the Service records it
• Watermark content and related proof metadata
• A coarse last-known location associated with your account, recorded on sign-in only when your device has already granted location permission

Device and technical data

Basic technical data needed for security, reliability, and abuse prevention — such as user agent / app version, approximate network information, and error and diagnostic logs. We do not collect advertising identifiers and we do not use third-party cross-app tracking SDKs.

Sharing data

• Share tokens and links you generate
• Recipient email addresses when you supply them to send a share
• View events on shared proofs
• Download permission flags you set for each share

Advertiser and payment data (web)

If you use advertiser features on the website, we collect business listing details, contact information, targeted industries and locations, and billing-related records. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); ARKshield does not store full card numbers.

On-device storage

When a capture cannot be uploaded immediately, the already-watermarked media and its metadata may be held temporarily in a local queue on your device until upload succeeds, after which the local copy is cleared.

• To show relevant advertising on surfaces of the Service where advertising is enabled
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms

Location is collected only when you allow it through your device's operating system permission and the Service requests it at capture or for a related feature. When collected, location is stored with the proof, burned into the watermark, and may be shown to recipients you choose to share with.

You may deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Proofs can still be created without GPS and are marked as having no location available.

Camera access is used only for live, in-app proof capture initiated by you. The Service does not access the camera in the background and does not import photos from your device gallery for proofs.

• Recipients you choose. Proof images and their associated details — including your profile name, email, and phone number — are shown to recipients of the links you create.
• Service providers. Authentication and database hosting, file storage, email delivery, bot protection, analytics and error monitoring, content moderation, mapping/geocoding, and payment processing. These providers process data only as needed to provide services to us.
• Legal. When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. Where advertising is enabled, advertising partners receive only the limited information needed to serve a relevant listing (such as an industry category); we do not provide them with your proofs, contact details, or precise location.

We retain account and proof data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

You may request deletion of your account at any time — see Delete your account. On a verified request we delete your account and associated account identifiers, subject to records we must retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Please note: under the content license in our Terms, ARKshield may continue to retain and use Content you submitted, including after account closure. Copies already shared with recipients through your share links may also remain accessible to those recipients.

We use industry-standard safeguards including access controls, row-level database authorization, encrypted transport, role-based administrative access, and private storage for original media. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old — or older where your jurisdiction requires a higher minimum age — to use the Service. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

• Choose who you share proofs with, and whether downloads are permitted
• Grant or revoke camera and location permissions in your device settings
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting support@arkvelocity.com
• Request account deletion through the process on our delete-account page

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date above.
